The "Bob & Peter, Ted & Alice" thread brought up a magnification problem that has me stumped.
Putting a 2x TC behind a 100mm macro is supposed to make the lens behave like a 200mm macro lens. (I think). But the Canon 2X is not supposed to fit behind the EF 100mm macro (old or new versions), so some people use a 12mm extension tube. Does this setup (100 + 12mm + 2x) behave like a 200mm macro lens? How do I go about calculating magnification, effective aperture? What is the math needed?
