"If it ain't broke don't fix it" comes to mind. So what is wrong with this long-established list? 1) No spam? 2) Users expected to reply at the bottom 3) Messages are bounced if you don't snip at least the header 4) A moderator that keeps things largely ON TOPIC
What aspect not covered by this will the new one cover? 1) Web interface - seemingly advert free 2) Separating film cameras from digital ones - avoiding one religious war I guess 3) Separating lenses from cameras??? Running lists is (a) great (pain). The very best are down to a few people with access to the resources (server) and with the tenacity to keep up with what is a thankless task year after year. Good luck with the new venture: I'll stick with good "old fashioned" email for as long as W-J hosts this list ... > George, would you please clarify why would we need additional forum to > discussions EOS system having this List already ? I just thought multiplying > the forums would impose unnecessary hassle to the members, probably one > place concentrating every related issue discussion would serve our needs > better. However would appreciate opposite opinions. * **** ******* *********************************************************** * For list instructions, including unsubscribe, see: * http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/eos_list.htm ***********************************************************
