[ED-E oversized eyecup]
"I had one of these on my EOS50E (Elan IIE) and it kept falling off.
Nearly lost
it several times so I attached it to the camera strap using a short cord.
Yes,
it did help a bit but it really was a real PITA to keep in place. Haven't
bothered with it on my EOS3 as its ECF only works when I have new,
unscratched
spectacles."

The ED-E eyecup has a couple of plastic prongs that make a friction fit
when slotted on the viewfinder. After some use, they break. (Remember, the
ED-E has to be removed every time you change film.) Took about two years on
my Elan IIe. I just used a small piece of black gaffers tape on the top of
the plastic frame of the eyecup to hold it on. Worked great.

I bought a second ED-E when I bought my EOS 3 last year. It is still going
strong, no need for gaffers tape yet.
