Unless they can get a smaller sensor to capture a lot more information than it does 
now, they sure they do.  Right now I can still scan a slide and get more information 
than the digital capture can.  I have my film and eat my digital cake too.  When ANY 
sensor matches that, the equation changes forever between film and digital.  Simple 
physics says they will be able to accomplish this in a larger sensor sooner than they 
will be able to cram it into a smaller sensor.

On the other hand, when I can get that 30 Megapixel 1Xs that fits in my palm and takes 
a 12" super telephoto, count me in!
