Hi!

Doesn't anybody have these Technical Overviews of the Canon EOS cameras? I
have one for EOS-3.

Different optics (those inside camera, the ones that form the image for the
AF CMOS...).
They needed to develop new optics for the large area AF system. This is what
is written under one graph:
"The optics for the new Area AF system are designed to prevent peripheral
loss of the AF light flux to ensure the absence of vignetting. And the
surplus light that results in the center makes AF possible with maximum
aperture down to f/8."

Does that explain something to you guys (without the image that I have no
means to show to you)?

Bye,
    Hugo.
