I've never heard of this but it sounds like something with their
scanner not your camera. They usually do quite a bit of cropping to
ensure they're within all cameras and likely their equipment needs an
alignment because the EOS 3 should be the standard of the industry as
far as where the image should fall on the film.

I just checked some negs from my EOS 55 and a generic P and S camera
negs and both have the image slightly closer to the sprocket holes at
the top of the camera position. Confiming that their equipment is
definitely off.
