That is interesting! I can't see how I let alone any law enforcement
agency would trust that if the method is secret - the only reliable
way of doing that would be embedding a cryptographically secure
digital signature to the file, and there's no way to verify its
security without knowing the algorithm used.

I haven't found anything suitable-looking in 10D's RAW files but
there's stuff in there whose significance I don't know, and of
course it's possible the 1Ds puts something more in there.
It might be an interesting project to figure out...
