And, I couldn't recommend your using the "move" command to move the files from your card to your computer. If something happened in the middle of the move, you could loose everything. Much safer to use the "copy" command, then delete the files on the card (or format it in the camera) after you know all the files have safely transferred.
Using this technique, you always have one or more copies of your files at all times.
