yes, volume adjustemnts works fine with the plugin. i installed pavucontrol from fedora 21. works fine.

But, the volume adjustment itself does work with the plugin, correct? As for the icons, can you go into Settings -> Appearance -> Icons and check if one of the complete icon themes is selected?
