I would advise caution in buying ANYTHING on Ebay. You
just really don't know what you're getting or who the
seller really is.
With an expensive item like an airplane or a car, I'm
sure that you would go look it over carefully in
person before you gave the seller a dime.
I bought a video on ebay. It was a full length movie,
made in the 70s, about the Wright Bros. I wanted to
own the film, but the only place I could find it at
all, was on ebay.
I took a chance and paid the $15 to the seller. The
tape was a horrible copy and portions of it are barely
watchable. Emails to the seller got the basic response
of "F*** You!". Ebay wouldn't help me. Maybe the
amount wasn't worth them messing with. I don't know.
Anyway, I'm just out the $15 and still don't have the
movie that I wanted.
OK, so I only lost a little money, but it did show me
that with buying items on Ebay, you are on your own.
Yeah, you can leave negative feedback, but that
doesn't get your money back. I suppose you could take
the sellar to court if you could find him/her but then
you would have all that hassle to deal with.
It really comes down to the ethics of the seller and
how can you tell? I had previously bought a few other
low dollar items from Ebay and those items were fine
and the sellers were polite and professional.
I'm just saying, be careful.
