Stephen.
My coupe is an older one that has the hand crank style trim on the dash.
Of all of the coupes I have flown with trims on the quadrant and on the side, mine is still the easiest to use. It does take up some dash space but leveling off I mahe fine adjustments of half a turn and get the fine response I need.
Takeoff is about five full turns nose down and best glide is sever turns up until it feels loose. (Get used to it after a while).
I have no idea why I am the only one with this trim. It should have a faceplate that goes on the dash, but mine does not have it. Does anybody have an old one?
