Having had a 415D with a C75/85, and now having a 415D with an O-200 and well-matched prop, I have to say that your experience matches mine pretty well. The bigger engines definitely 'feel' pitch changes a lot more than the smaller ones do. It probably has more to do with the different prop than anything else.
