Hi Jeff,
Glad to see that you finally got your dream.  She sure looks pretty.  Write or call me if you need any help with anything.  The Ercoupe Nationals are in Minden, Nebraska next June (I think).  Hope to see you there.

Hi,
I'd like to introduce myself (Jeff Gacek) and my friend Chip Andrews. We are both new first time owners of an Ercoupe airplane. Chip and I have flown together for the last couple years in Hornet Experimental. We sold our planes in September and each purchased a 46 Ercoupe 415-C in October. We're having a gas flying these coupes.

I almost bought an Ercoupe from Jim Phelps in 2002. I had a contract with him to purchase his plane but he asked me to let him out of it because he change his mind. So I did. Chip had an Challenger experimental at the time and ended up talking me into buying and experimental plane so that we could fly together. It was fun, but we had to do much of our flying in the early morning or early evening because we would get bounced around so much in these light planes.

We've always talked about the Ercoupe and how much we like the plane. If fact this summer, Chip got the bug. He kept saying, "Let's sell these planes and get a coupe". I just brushed him off. But you can only do that for so long with Chip. Finally, I got the bug... again.

So, the chase was on. We began looking for two coupes as close to home as possible. I've always felt the best coupes sold word of mouth rather than through ads so we started networking and eventually found two different coupes right here in Minnesota that we bought. We are now learning everything we can about these planes (in fact I feel like a sponge just soaking it all in) and are having a lot of fun.

I'd like to thank some people who helped me back in 2002 with my attempted Ercoupe purchase. You guys may not remember me but I really appreciated the emails and phone calls during that time. The seeds you planted were not in vane, they just took a while to blossom. Thanks to Syd Cohen, Ed Burkhead, Jan Zanutto, Greg Bullough. You're help was appreciated.

I look forward each day to get the emails off of the flyin and tech lists, so keep it up, it's a great way to learn about the coupe. Maybe some day I'll be able to contribute to the discussion.

Thanks again

Jeffrey Gacek
