I do hope that some of the interest shown in the
trips that I make are a sign that some of the rest of you are contemplating
challenging the record books with your aircraft. The NAA is the "Keeper of
the record books" and is the Aero Club here in the United States. They
have an interesting Web site. Go there and look up the rules and see if
you would like to attempt a record run somewhere near where you live. The
minimum Flying speed of an Ercoupe/Aircoupe is listed as 38 miles per hour, and
this is the speed you will have to beat over a course that has yet to be
determined. It can be a great adventure.
