Bob::

1.)  Ercoupe and Aircoupe fuel caps are different.
2.)  There are at least 5 different fuel system configurations through the
aircraft's lifetime.
3.) there is little chance of collapsing the fuel tanks with a fuel pump
vacuum.
4.) if you have 4 quick drains on the belly and a center firewall mounted
gascolator, you have an Alon system.
5.) you should have the maintenance manuals for your airplane, they are
available from Skyport
6.)  I would suspect the gaskets on your fuel caps are hardened and do not
seal well.
      Especially if you are burning car gas.
