I might be wrong, but it is my distinct impression that the Ercoupe Owner's Club as it is presently constituted is not organizationally of the nature that it would purchase the type certificate for the airplane. Now that doesn't mean that a group of Ercoupe owners ought not to consider doing so...only that leadership of the EOC as it is constituted today wouldn't be inclined to take on the role of aircraft manufacturer.
