I get Greg's point.

I'd agree that it's unlikely that the club's directors would be likely
to want to get into the major fuss of buy and managing a business like
type certificate parts and supply.  It wouldn't be a minor thing to do.
A lot of work and time would be involved.

Also, there would be some liability issues.  I don't know how perfectly
incorporation would protect the directors of a club which owned the type
certificate, making and selling parts.  They could be personally named
as defendants in a lawsuit and, and some of the directors have assets
that would be tempting to some litigants.  (In fact the directors may
have the ONLY worthwhile assets a litigant could go after.)
