The NPRM is written in knots and says 39 kts. at 1232 lb.  The conversion is 1.1508 so that makes 44.8812 mph.

 

Even after the final rules are published, we may have to weight a while to find out what’ll be necessary for certificated planes to meet the rule for Sport Pilots.

 

Maybe the FAA even wrote better limits into the rule. LOL.  I requested, in my comments, that they allow 1600 lb. gross on any plane “Characteristically incapable of spinning” within Sport.  Think they listened to me?
