What it boils down to is that if you want to be able to keep Skyport alive
as a business, you need to run it - that's a full time job. But it is
questionable if running Skyport alone will bring you so much in return
that
the efforts in time and money will pay you back. Nobody can replace the
knowledge and experience as well the service, Lee was able to provide.
I discussed the problematic with my FBO and we agreed that one either buys
all parts and sells them out later, without worrying much about the
business, or one needs to be in the aircraft business already and doesn't
have to rely on Skyports return.
Still, when you want to keep selling Landing gear fairings or Kinney nose
bowls, or even the 30 gallon tank system, you'll need to be able to
actually
manufacture them, which can give you a few setbacks.

Unless Skyport finds a home with someone who is already in the business
and
has the mentioned experience ( and maybe even a shop), I think we will see
it disappear to someone who will just sell out the parts.

And we will be in the hands of UNIVAIR alone when it comes to parts in the
future.

Oh boy.
