----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]----Hartmut; You comments are on the money. I suspect that Skyport's current owner ran into two problems that really cut down his business. First, he, as a knowledgeable Ercoupe owner did not have the time to talk to his customers when they called. Second, organizing and running Skyport took away from his time to run Balsa USA, which was a going concern.
He probably got tired pretty quick of putting in 18 to 20 hour days trying to do both, which may have contributed significantly to a downturn in his health.
The economy in the aircraft business has not been that great the past couple of years, so it most likely had an influence also.
Lee had a great advantage with being able to task personnel at American Champion to assist in the running/production business of Skyport.
We should strongly encourage any of our brethren who may have an aircraft business and enjoy Ercoupes to take a close look at adding Skyport to their family.
