The other problem is that many of these new worms and viruses are
written in such a way as to disable firewalls and anti-virus programs.
It has become essential for anyone who uses their computers these days
for emailing, whether or not they are on the Internet, to DAILY
download the latest virus definitions and make sure your firewall
programs and other protective programs are kept as up to date as
possible. Sign up for automatic updates to make it as easy as
possible, and be sure to let your anti-virus program scan your entire
computer at least once a week.

Such is the unfortunate price of technology these days.

Don,
When you first posted the warning, I looked back through the list
messages I had received. I did NOT find any infected messages.
I think that some list member has an infected computer. Domr viruses
take addresses from the mailbox and some use a subject line associated
with that address. This suckers people into opening the message since
they think it's just another message on the same subject from someone
they know.
So, it seems it did NOT come to anyone through the list. I'm guessing
it came to you directly, spoofing the list's address so you thought it
came through the list.
EVERYBODY who is on the Internet NEEDS a good anti-virus program. It
seems that someone out there doesn't have one and who knows what else
his/her computer is doing.
