If one wants to demonstrate how the Ercoupe swivvles from a crabbed
approach, simply get two aiplane ,models ---one a tail wheel like a Piper
cub, and the second one a tri cycle gear like a Cherokee.
Now clear your dining room table of Coupe capers, and Flying
magazines....to create a clear landing area.
Simply gently toss the models across the table.
The Cub type tail wheel airplane will swivvle around to a tail
first position as the Mass is behind the main landing gear.....
The Cherokee/ Cessna 172 will land nicely and rollout in a
straight line.
Now toss the Cherokee of Cessna 172 onto the table in a
crab...., and see that it will straighten itself out in the
direction it was moving..... Just like an Ercoupe.
