I am trying to figure out why I get regular bursts of pixilation and sound loss on one of our local DTV stations. I think I have figured out the cause, need confirmation and hopefully a cure. The interference lasts about 1 second and occurs regularly roughly every 31 seconds. There is a Doppler RADAR dome located very near the transmitter. The channel affected is UHF channel 39. They may be at 31.1 kw or may have gone up to 716 kw. They are 9.2 miles away, direct line of sight. I'm thinking every time the RADAR sweeps us, we get a glitch. There are several other channels located very near that one physically, both UHF and VHF. 12 is the only VHF digital station and 43 is the closest UHF (digital) station and may be collocated. I have not noticed a problem with 43, but don't watch it that much. 34(DTV) may also be collocated and works fine (Awesome 1080i PBS Nova HD broadcasts.). We are located up high (as are the transmitters) and I have a pretty high gain antenna. I'm thinking some sort of low pass filter, or maybe a "weaker" antenna? Need solution before Patriots/Jets game tomorrow afternoon ;) John Cooper, A&P Skyport Services PO Box 249 4996 Delaware Tnpk Rensselaerville, NY 12147 518 797-3064 Fax 518 797-3865 www.skyportservices.net ============================================================================== To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm
