The planes are an artist's rendition, and I can't find anything about the pic of the men. I backtracked the story to the BBC website where it said someone had pics and video, then to the bomber's website where I didn't see a mention, but I may have not looked properly. Amazing story, indeed. There's an old fellow at our airport who tells the story of a B17 being chased far into England never taking fire from the Nazi who stayed close on his tail. When they finaly landed for fuel, the German pilot also landed, explained that he had long ago passed the point of no return, asked for and was given fuel and then allowed to return home!
