I flew from Roswell, New Mexico, to Salem, Oregon, and second the
advise given by Steve and others.
* Getting out of Oregon will be the biggest challenge; especially the
southern mountains.
* Central valley of California has it's weather issues; they were not
a challenge to me going through in August.
* Once you get to the Southern California desert, you should have it
made.
* Please do observe density altitude. Even though not in the heat of
summer, it can be tricky. The Ercoupe is not the best climber.
And please consider Roswell when route planning. It is a good gate
way to southern Texas, and I'll treat you to Mexican food at Martin's
Capitol Cafe.

I will have an Ercoupe around mid-January and need to get
it from the Portland area to the Houston TX area. Any advice about a
route down through CA? I haven't flown out in the west coast
previously.
Best regards,
Rich
