Subj: Ercoupe Accident.
Hey fellow Ercouper's: I heard this afternoon that N 99154 has crashed near
Sebring Florida. Two occupants were killed. The story from non pilots really
sounds bad, and that is what is written on the local Internet site. However,
a local pilot said he saw the plane just prior to the crash in a nose low
attitude, obviously exceeding VNE and the ailerons were fluttering. The owner,
an experienced pilot, was not flying the plane. Someone recently checked out
was flying it.
