When I was doing my windows, I noticed in a prior life the side panels were just vinyl glued directly to the inner "window protector" aluminum panels. I removed the vinyl since it was just making weight. The Airtex panels seem to be rigid enough that fastening at the top and front and back ends with contact cement seems quite adequate. In fact if I recall correctly, the seat frame actually holds in the rear of the panel without need for adhesive.
