I never installed the EtherLab master on RTAI, but I did it on Xenomai.
As you might guess, the installation procedure needs some patch.
In case of Xenomai this could be:

You seem to be a beginner, therefore I'd advise you to use a well
proven RT framework,
for instance, Machinekit on rt-preemt or xenomai.
Then you can either use https://github.com/sittner/ec-debianize
or something like this example
https://github.com/sirop/EtherCAT_HAL/blob/master/pdortapi2dc.comp
as a master.
