I propose to add PopplerKit and Vindaloo into Etoile. Although it is not actively developed now (see http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.gnustep.general/25982), it still runs well with GNUstep and the quality of code is pretty good in my own opinions. Maybe Quentin or Nicolas can ask Stefan Stegemann about this.
Sure.
Both are GPL because xpdf is GPL.
ok.
By now, we have several candidates for Etoile: Ink, Preview, StepTalk, PopplerKit and Vindaloo. I think they are all good components for desktop environment and work fine for now.
I agree, except for Ink… it's licensed under GPL and the copyright is owned by FSF, then it's potentially preventing us to experiment with it or to be free to do whathever we want with the code. Taking in account, it's a really really small application, I would prefer to have it rewritten from scratch under BSD license. We are probably going to use such text component in many cases I think.
Even if we don't have time to improve them, we can simply keep them alive with latest GNUstep until someone has time to work on them.
ok. Quentin. -- Quentin Mathé [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Etoile-dev mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/etoile-dev
