I agree, except for Ink… it's licensed under GPL and the copyright is
owned by FSF, then it's potentially preventing us to experiment with
it or to be free to do whathever we want with the code. Taking in
account, it's a really really small application, I would prefer to
have it rewritten from scratch under BSD license. We are probably
going to use such text component in many cases I think.

Well, more or less. The main problem is the GPL license. By being
combined with the FSF copyright, this assignement means we probably
cannot relicense it (unless FSF accepts, but I'm doubtful about this
possibility). Most StepTalk parts are under LGPL, so it's surely less an
issue. Moreover StepTalk will probably be linked most of the time. Using
it as a bundle within an application not LGPL or GPL licensed could be
problematic though.
