The GNOME VFS is going to be replaced. This mail discusses some of

I don't know how much of it is also applicable to Etoile, but it might
be interesting and useful to look at what they're dealing with, and
learn from their experience when creating Etoile's file system.
BTW, is CoreObject available anywhere? I don't see it in the Etoile
repository (or maybe I'm blind). What the current status on it?
