True. Good UIs are hard to build when the application model doesn't
match the expectations of the user, so it's good if thoughts about
usability start at an early stage. (Which is the case in most Etoile
projects.)

Hehe. :-D

Hm. Maybe we're all above the average in "UI taste". But still, there
will be problems that you can't foresee. Let's take the OgreKit find
panel for example; before I changed it yesterday, it didn't have a key
view loop and it didn't start a search when you hit enter in the find
field, which both particularly annoyed me. The point is, when you
usually don't use features like tabbing between views, you won't spot
these missing features when informally evaluating your user interface.

I don't want to say we should do a formal evaluation like using
checklists for it, but you'll need at least two or three others
("UI-nazis") to look over your UI and complain about inconveniences.

Wow, cool! :-) I'm just getting completely excited about a DTP
application that automatically updates the current news from Grr into
its text boxes. Amazing stuff! :-) I hope we can get that to work. :-)
