On this point and the preceeding points, I'd like to continue experimenting with WorkspaceManager in order to start fleshing out the architectural interactions between components. I used EtoileUI for exactly the same reason you specified - we are focusing alot on frameworks and I wanted to start exercising them so that they can mature a bit under use. Your proposal to use ProjectDemo as a sort of sandbox I think fits in with this: we can experiment with our user interface ideas there, and use it as a jumping point for discussion about how our user interface should work. From this we can translate them to the architecture for a multi-application environment. Do you think this is a suitable approach?
