This one looks interesting:
"Integrate GNUstep into the system, but maintain BSD licensing on our own code
whenever possible. The kernel and most userland software must be BSD licensed."
I always like FreeBSD. So this one would be a good choice.
Unfortunately, I don't have a machine to run FreeBSD yet.

NeXTbuntu (http://nextbuntu.wordpress.com/) has probably similiar goal.
But the approach is some-how too radical to me.
