I don't see what you mean by "it's a mess". Please keep in mind that the whole set of RSS and Atom standards is a huge mess in itself, since there are at least three major standards (RSS1.0, RSS2.0, Atom), which have different versions. Besides, please keep in mind that of those three major syndication formats, only one (RSS1.0) is based on RDF, so I don't think Raptor will allow you to parse RSS2.0 and Atom. A big problem with these three formats is that a lot of people upload syntactical incorrect feeds that a parser still has to understand if it wants to be useful.
