I don't see what you mean by "it's a mess". Please keep in mind that the
whole set of RSS and Atom standards is a huge mess in itself, since
there are at least three major standards (RSS1.0, RSS2.0, Atom), which
have different versions.
Yeah, I mean the standards are a mess.
Besides, please keep in mind that of those three major syndication
formats, only one (RSS1.0) is based on RDF, so I don't think Raptor will
allow you to parse RSS2.0 and Atom.
I just realized that after playing with raptor library for a while.
A big problem with these three formats is that a lot of people upload
syntactical incorrect feeds that a parser still has to understand if it
wants to be useful. So even when you just want to parse RSS1.0, it's a
better choice not to use a RDF library so that you're still able to
parse RDF documents with syntax errors.
I have the same thought now.
So the idea of using raptor can be dropped now. :D
