I whipped up a quick class for reading XPM images. I still need to
test it with more images (XPM is a strange format), but it should work
most of the time. There are also some unresolved issues, related to
named colour lookups (XPM can use named colours from X11's rgb.txt
file). (Read: images that use named colours won't work properly.)
I coded it with possible inclusion into GNUstep in mind, so I'll see
if they want to include it in GNUstep, but until then, here it is.
It depends on libxpm, which is included in X11, or can be downloaded
separately from here: http://koala.ilog.fr/lehors/xpm.html. That
library itself is designed around X11, but I'm not using any of the
X11 functions.
You can either use the NSXPMImageRep class directly, or you can just
use the NSImage class, which will now recognize XPM images.
I only tested it with GNUstep -- I haven't tested it on MacOS X.
Thank you very much.
I would be happy to use it.
Did you submit it to GNUstep already ?
If so, I would wait until it is in GNUstep svn.
Thanx again.
