Hello everybody, first of all I think I have to introduce myself:
I am 22 y.o. computer science student from the Czech Republic, but I'm studying at England (Coventry) this year. I am writing here because I am now working on my final year project, which is about Étoilé. I am basically aiming to produce a work that should describe what is Étoilé project about and what are the main ideas behind. I am doing that because I am interested in the ideas put forward by Étoilé project. I can remember that when I read about Étoilé for the first time it took me quite a lot of time and effort to find out what is it all about and why is it so different. Therefore I want to work out a paper that would allow people to get into Étoilé more quickly. After discussion with my project supervisor I had set up this outline: Product: Feasibility study of benefits of Étoilé user environment 1.User interface description 1.1.List of innovative user interface principles used in the environment 1.2.Description of the user interface (fictional screenshots and description of behavior of the parts of user interface) 2.Usability improvement study 2.1.Fictional task analysis performing tasks in the different areas where computers are used 2.2.Investigation of users’ approval on the new user interface concepts 3.Underlying architecture feasibility study 3.1.Description of the underlying architecture 3.2.Analysis of advantages/disadvantages of the Étoilé’s underlying architecture 3.2.1.Considering the ease of development 3.2.2.Considering the hardware requirements Report: 1.Background research into Étoilé project 2.Research methods documentation 3.Project management documentation 4.Critical evaluation of the product and project I have already finished one part of task analysis/new interface concepts description. All the screenshots there are made in Inkscape, which quite surprised me - it is really powerful tool now :) My deadline for that is in three weeks ( bad time management :-( ), so unfortunately I need to keep it short and simple.
