I was looking at the transparency of x.org
and am able to use standard tools to make AZDock transparent.
I attach a screenshot.
It uses x.org's composite extension.
While it is an eye-candy, I always wonder what is good for transparency ?
If your distro has 'transset' and 'xcompmgr',
execute 'transset' and click the window to be transparent.
Then execute xcompmgr to make it work.
In any case, if I need to implement transparent and other eye-candy effect,
I probably will have the composite manager separated from window manager
as what xcompmgr does.

Another thing to mention is that the whole window is transparent.
It would be nice that the background is transparent but the icon is not.

Have fun.
