Just for the record, my direct iMessage is dead? I think this method is still okay. Since the original iPad got stuck at iOS 5.1.1, hence Apple will never dare to drop support to iMessage protocol as implemented in that very version. So the safest bet for now, if we are tapping into it, is get our client behave as an original iPad on iOS 5.1.1 and BAM. Before Apple eventually decided to phase out that protocol, we still have enough time to carry it on to the one implemented in the last iOS for iPod touch 4G, and etc.
