Video cards and stuff

Hey, speking of the thursday meetings, I was there, got slackware ..

anyway I can't figure out the settings I need to tell xf86config to get X
to work. I have zero documentation but I do have windows on a partition of
it.
Does anyone know if I can get memory fo video card vync and hsync from
windows somehow?
I really don't want to lug this guy on the bus to the next meeting.
I tried bullshitting and guess settings I thought were average and,
although I am an excellent bullshitter, X just throws up on me and fails.
