I got this tmeporary help
When you figure out how to get higher resolution, edit your
/etc/X11/XF86Config file, and remove the "Virtual 800 600" line.
which solves the problem of not being able to access the edges of
certain pop up menus, but, is there a way to get everything to fit
in the screen I have? I think the monitor is 13" from diagonal
corner to corner, an old INFINITI with the color fading away, red is
real faint, oh well.
