from their website it sounds like standard 802.11(a|g) gear, so range not tremendous, but the neat thing is they can serve as ad-hoc routers for a multiply connected network. They have isos, and source releases, you don't have to get the hardware, you should theoretically be able to repurpose any old pc with a wireless NIC into being an AP, the h/w is nice, but not strictly necessary. > > Bob Miller ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) wrote*: > > > >Larry Price wrote: > > > >> > >> http://www.locustworld.com/index.php > >> > >> pulled out of the post-homework RSS suck, > >> looks neat bootable images, mesh routing software to link APs and > >> broadband links, auto-discovery and a hardware access point for USD 390 > > > >If somebody here wants to buy one, I'll buy another one so they can > >talk to each other. > > > >[EMAIL PROTECTED] > >http://mailman.efn.org/cgi-bin/listinfo/eug-lug > > > > _______________________________________________ > Eug-LUG mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://mailman.efn.org/cgi-bin/listinfo/eug-lug > -- http://www.efn.org/~laprice ( Community, Cooperation, Consensus http://www.opn.org ( Openness to serendipity, make mistakes http://www.efn.org/~laprice/poems ( but learn from them.(carpe fructus ludi) _______________________________________________ Eug-LUG mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mailman.efn.org/cgi-bin/listinfo/eug-lug
