Your friend probably wants to use a format that default PalmOS devices
can read!  I assume there are some commercial preparation services
designed for people in this friend's situation, who help professionally
prepare the document for sale.  Of course if this is a
low-budget/shoestring operation, and number of free tools will surely
suffice -- although I would suggest doing as much testing as possible,
on different readers, devices, using various internationalizations,
etc... a lot of technical users will notice the sort of polish that
fully composed and produced media should have.  One great money-maker
(although painfully litigious) would be to produce it and get it lots of
marketing, then start suing all the people who share it on p2p networks
= )  Ha, ha... cheers,
