Note that Fedora Core 4 was just released a few hours ago... you may want to install it instead of Core 3.

On Debian, I've had wonderful luck playing DVDs with Xine; it "just worked".

Thanks to you and Rodney for your help. I mis-worded my question (as usual).
I do indeed have a DVD drive and am FTP-ing the DVD image for Fedora Core 3
even as I type this however, that was not what I meant to ask. I would like
to be able to play DVD Movies on the Fedora box, and wondered if anyone had
suggestions as to which DVD decoding/playing software is easy to install and
reasonably efficient.

I use dvdbackup and xine for DVDs. But I don't know how those
programs are to install -- they're in Gentoo ready to emerge.

The other popular choice is mplayer.
