Although it should be noted that said "perversion" is standards-compliant
and works perfectly fine with (most) any Kerberos implementations. There
were some problems between heimdal and MS's Kerberos for a while, but as I
recall that was Heimdal's fault.

But hey, I shouldn't be sticking up for MS anymore as I've recently
decided to begin my return 100% to my *NIX roots and stop working on MS
products for silly political reasons :)
