CompUSA announced late last week they are going out of business, supposedly
some time "just after Christmas". Clearance sale prices reported to be
coming soon but the prices in their latest Sunday ad do not appear to
reflect that. However the ad prices below appear to be in the competitive
zone.

Seagate 250GB "Free Agent" USB Ext HD $80
Seagate 500GB "Free Agent Pro" USB/eSATA Ext HD $160
Maxtor 750GB One Touch 4 Plus Ext HD $240
WD 500GB MyBook Essentials USB Ext HD $120
WD 250GB portable USB Ext $160
WD 1TB MyBook Ext HD (w/ RAID mirroring) $380
I/O Magic 1TB USB Ext HD $270

No rebates needed for the above (ad best to avoid making a purchase decision
based on after rebate price, especially if the reseller is going out of
business).

Just wondering if any of you rotorheads have any experience with the WD
MyBook external hard drive.

They seem to get cheaper every day and I've been thinking how great it
would be to have a nice 250gig or so external HD to back up to.
