Hey hey,
We have 170 dell 800 MHz 1.3 GHz PIII machines that we would like to
configure so we can place them locally or with an international placement.
We have to go into the BIOS and delete the donor¹s info and the computers
serial numbers before we can reuse the hardware. There are no CD or floppy
drives in the machines (built so employees couldnŒt mess with them).
I was thinking this could be a fun project for a Linuxhead. They are
designed not to boot from the USB port, but, can take a network install. Our
network system is not set up for this type of installation process, so I was
thinking if someone wanted to help us get these machines up and running, we
could pull the hardware together for a Linux server just to work with these
machines.

If anyone out in Eugene Linuxland would like to help us on this project, we
would love to get these machines new homes. We would need the volunteer to
work independently and plow through the boxes. We are culling off the dead
units now. We have about a 25% failure rate, so we are looking at 120-130
working units, Lemme know if you would have an interest.
