IF the screens are the same and you've got a GUI of some sort to manage them 
then yes, setting the resolution to the same on each *should* work. Otherwise 
you can setup Xinerama through Xorg .

Outside of that, as asked already, what distro and version? Are the monitors 
the same or not?
