The "Save Galileo's Eyes" petition, aiming to preserve the Galileo Jupiter Orbiter's cameras for a final exciting flyby of a virtually unmapped hemisphere of Io, has now received 500 signatures. Some might say that a premature shutdown of Galileo's Solid State Imager, Near Infrared Mapping Spectrometer and Photopolarimeter/Radiometer for so small a saving shows tunnel vision - even myopia.
